Natural Elite Shungite from Karelia, Russia. This is Type 1 or "Noble" shungite with high carbon content. Black with a bright, glassy, metallic luster. Lightweight for its size.

Elite Shungite is distinguished by its shine and conchoidal fracture pattern. This piece has one flat cut/polished face showing natural striations, with raw edges on the back. Self-standing.

Note: Shungite is soft and brittle. It can shed tiny black carbon particles. Handle with care and keep away from light fabrics.
